We want to buy a watermelon ( 5 pounds ) and three kilos of tomatoes ( 1.99 pounds) . How much are they ? 

1.99 x 3=    5.97

5 + 5.97= 10 pounds 97 p

We want to buy a box of cereal ( 3 pounds 50) and 2 cartons of milk ( 3 pounds 50).  How much are they ?

3.50 x2= 7 (milk )

3.50 + 7 = 10.50
