How many crayons does she have? 

12x 5= 60 

60+ 18= 78 crayons in total 

A baker makes 9 cupcakes per tray. He bakes 8 trays, then sells 34 cupcakes. 

How many cupcakes remain?

9x 8= 72

72- 34= 38 cupcakes left

Each table seats 6 people . A  school sets up 9 tables and then adds 10 extra chairs . How many seats are

available ?

 6x 9 = 54

54+ 10= 64 seats  available

A gardener plants 7 seeds in each flowerbed. He fills 10 flowerbeds, then 15 seeds fail to grow. 

How many plants grow successfully?

7x 10= 70 

70- 15= 55 plants grow successfully
